Etarte: where tradition evolves

Cities need to coexist with slow and small enviroments to rescue

those traditional and beautiful anecdotes of the people.

“Etarte” is the basque word to name the entrances of the FarmHouses from the Basque Country. They are places of meeting, places to receive visitors and communication points of people with common lifestyles. Etartes are also special symbol of an ancestral form of life, where tradition merges with the everyday. For the concept design, we used processes like traditional basketry, in a contemporary setting, trying to find a natural and slow atmosphere.
