SHORTENED REAR END: A trailing edge square “cheates” the wind, simulating the continuing shape. Using a flat tube softens the air flow to the cages.
DOUBLE RADIO. The “bullet” dual radio located in the front end opens the air flow around the tube and improves flow so it allows bigger turning angles.
SMOOTHED SIDES: Smoothed sides reduces the frontal area of the tube and offers better resistance data at lower speeds.

We had the challenge to the design the new Ordu for Orbea. The aim was to create a faster, lighter and more specific bike. It needed to adapt to the UCI rules for professional road cyclists so they could compete with it.

Orbea design process is based on teamwork. Engineers and designers working together to meet requirements related to aerodynamics, efficiency , weight and integration of elements. It is a process where everyone contributes , intensive work to make the best taking into account multiple factors, limitations and requirements.

We created together the best posible versión, the bike is composed with the most aerodunamic profiles and integrated elements in order to reduce air friction.

The FreeFlow fork spreads its arms out of this zone of high pressure and high resistance to reduce pressure and turbulences. The normal aerodynamics directional doesn’t change, but the bike gains in speed due to the air space within the fork Freeflow is less chaotic .

The result is a powerful bike with optimum performance in the wind tunnel.

Ordu Is The Competition Model Chosen By The Cofidis Team And Orbea / Orca Triathletes.

I Just Finished My Time Trial At The Pan American Masters Championship In Puerto Rico And Won The Gold On My New Bike. I Have Named Her “Tommy Gun”. She Was Amazing To Ride And Carried Me To The Gold. Thank You And Everyone At Orbea For Working So Hard To Get Her To Me In Time For The Championship. I Cannot Say Enough About The Bike.
