María Razquin

As a Junior Designer at DOT María supports projects combining business strategy, trend forecasting, design research and detailed service design.

María is a very curious, enthusiastic and a reflexive person. Everyone in the team think she has a really optimistic character, although she always contributes with a practical dose of realism.  She enjoys hosting and generating stimulating conversation in order to understand unknown realities and bring clients, users and customers closer to the innovation process. That’s why she is so unique at the time of facing new projects or leading design research phases.

She understands businesses as change agents that have the capability to improve realities and challenge the status quo. That’s why, despite being so young, she has a notable entrepreneurial background as a social entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of Zocco Handmade, an ethical fashion brand working with communities in India and Morocco, involving a team of 15 women until today in both countries. Her role in this social project has gone from building the value chain and the design of the collections to working in marketing and communication. In 2016 the project was selected to participate in the two years mentorship program Invisible Beauty Makers, in collaboration with Ashoka and Puig.

As part of her studies at Mondragon University – Mondragon Team Academy she also co-founded a start up named Loadinn where she leaded numerous projects related with communication, education and international market research. As part of this experience she has been working in India, China, Finland and Morocco.

She believes on the dialogue between disciplines as a source of innovation. She enjoys working at the intersections of science, design, anthropology, economy and philosophy to create product-service systems that generate value and solve complex challenges. Yes, this might sound crazy and difficult but you will always find María with a huge smile on his face.
